Basics and special needs in support and care of people with Prader-Willi-Syndrome (PWS) – a Staff Training ProgramTo take care of people with rare diseases – and Prader-Willi-Syndrome is one of this – is an exceptional challenge for the environment especially for the people who are in direct contact with people with PWS. Often there is not enough information about the syndrome and literature is also rare. The exchange of knowledge, a qualified support or the education about the syndrome is often not possible in most countries. The following training program “Basic and special needs in support and care of people with Prader-Willi-Syndrome – a Staff Training Program” offered by the Prader-Willi-Syndrome-Institute Germany (PWS-ID) is focused on people who are in a situation of a professional direct care of people with PWS or to people who wants to start the work in this field. The course allows to get a deeply knowledge about the syndrome in a closed training group. To understand the background and the reasons of the challenging behavior and to learn about strategies to handle problematic behavior is one focus. Also the basics about nutrition and physical activities will be a part of the training program. The training is organized in two training blocks. The two blocks cover the following content:
All speakers have experiences in PWS over many years. Please note that the course can only be booked in a whole package. The course is located in Berlin, Germany. The costs are 2000 € for both blocks. The costs include the seminars and the catering during the seminar days (9am – 5pm).
